Topicsuperlative of adjectives to indefinite articles
Comment
How do you form superlatives of adjectives to objects with indefinite articles? Is this correct?:

However, a too strong of a discrimination would require emissions to be negative.

Or is it merely without the first "a"?:
However, too strong of a discrimination would require emissions to be negative.

Similarly:
The blade gives rise to a too steep of an angle of attack.
vs.
The blade gives rise to too steep of an angle of attack.

Ich würde den Artikel weglassen, sonst hättest Du zwei Artikel für ein Nomen.
M.E. Geschmacksache: Ich würde auch das 'of' weglassen.
... to too steep an angle ...

Unabhängig davon: strong + discrimination? - too much d., too extreme d.

The blade gives rise to too steep an angle of attack. is correct. The sentence with 'discrimination' seems generally confusing to me; the word 'strong' doesn't seem to fit.

It's about isotopic discrimination (ε), a value that is always below zero. "large" and "small" is confusing, since

ε_1= -0.002, ε_2= -0.007
ε_1 > ε_2

Hence ε_2 although numerically smaller but larger in its absolute value |ε|, results in a stronger discrimination. Or do you have a better wording for this?

Frankly, I don't see any superlatives in the examples given here ...

Thank you very much! During the adaptation of the text of my report, I ran across this sentence, which sounds equally weird to me:

Some points had to be removed based on too large a blank area, too low a delta value of the blank or an extreme mixing ratio value from the TCD.

The listing starts with two cases of "too [adjective] a", and finishes differently. However, the order should not be changed, and "extreme" was chosen to include both too high and too low values.

Woody is correct, there are no superlatives in this thread. I am sorry for the confusion. :)

Some points had to be removed because the blank area was too large, the delta value of the blank was too low or the mixing ratio value from the TCD was too high or low.

Lemanius, the other thing (apart from the missing superlatives) that makes your enquiry confusing is these 'ofs' hanging around in your sentences.

with too-adjective + indefinite article, you can generally put them in either order, but too + adj. + a(n) sounds more elegant (and I see no problem with your example in #7). However CM2DD's most recent solution is by far the best.
