Topicstereotypes

Hey, in a text it said there were certain stereotypical views concerning ( ?) Muslims or in general religious people held by British people ( "perceptions that rely on broad stereotypes"). Now a student has written there are " prejudices of the British and stereotypes of immigrants." How is the word stereotypes used, so is "stereotypes of immigrants" okay and clear ?

Do you have the entire sentence?

If the writer was contrasting the British and the immigrants, or drawing parallels between them, then I think what they wanted to say was "the prejudices of the British and the stereotypical behavior of the immigrants", or "... the stereotyped behavior of the immigrants", but not "... stereotypes of immigrants."

But dude is right; seeing the full sentence would help.

There would be several ways of fighting against the prejudices of the British and stereotypes of immigrants.

Both the prejudices and the stereotypes are prejudiced generalizing ideas British people have concerning immigrants ( according to a text ).

might work here, but whatever your student wrote there doesn't really make a lot of sense, IMO
