zunächst mal verwendet man am Ende von Fragesätzen logischerweise ein sogenanntes Fragezeichen.

Ansonsten zu deinen Beispielen (aus meiner Sicht als Non-native Speaker):

- a monkey which ...

- Tinka, my cat, who ... (Was soll hier der Schrägstrich zwischen "who" und "sleeps"?

In my AE usage, the more I have anthropomorphized the animal, the more likely I am to use "who" instead of "which." Pets tend to be highly anthropomorphized, so they are typically "who." Wild animals are not, hence they are typically "which."

This rule also applies to my daughter's stuffed animals.

The basic rule is that we use "who" for people, "which" for animals and things, and "that" for people/animals/things.

But people use words in the way they want, and it's not uncommon for people to use "who" for animals, particularly when they're emphasizing their personality.

Even where "who" is not used, the genitive "whose" is often possible, and the defining "that" is also used for people.
