It's correct with "as."

Right, but I believe it's also correct without (I have to mark this wrong.) At least it's often said that way.

True, but I think what's meant is I have to make his "wrong." Otherwise, who's to say it shouldn't mean wrong as in "mark the wrong item" or "using the wrong word" or "color" or whatever.

Yes, it is well to take note of the potential ambiguity.

You could avoid the ambiguity introduced by wrong being interpreted as an adverb modifying the verb mark by saying "I have to mark this incorrect" -- incorrect has not pushed itself through as a flat adverb the way wrong has.

What's wrong with using "as," as suggested in the OP?

I don't think there's anything wrong with as.

But I think that Pat makes a good point, without contradicting that.

I think most people (and most teachers) would say "I have to mark this wrong" or "I have to mark this right."

My first reaction was that "I have to mark it as wrong" would be wrong. But I have now reconsidered, as it is quite possible to say "I have to mark this as unclear/ incomplete/ ambiguous/ written in Swedish/ hieroglyphic, etc.
