I would translate them as follows:

Braunware: TV/Video Devices (normally just "TV/Video" regardless of whether in Internet or in a department store)

Weissware: Household Appliances

Household appliances include everything from washers, driers, refrigerators, toasters, etc.

"White goods" bringt in UK 43.000 Google-Hits, "brown goods" immerhin 1.650. Diese Begriffe sind also zumindest in Großbritannien durchaus gebräuchlich und mir auch geläufig.

Im Marketing auch sehr geläufig.

Brown goods and white goods are certainly terms well used in BE. White goods more than brown goods, but both certainly commonly used.

Im Marketing gibt es etwas ähnliches (zumindest im Deutschen) auch im Bereich Milchprodukte:
Weiße Linie: Joghurt, Quark, Sahne, etc.
Gelbe Linie: Käse
Gibt es sowas auch im Englischen?

I would then qualify my earlier comment as being from the point of view of AE. I don't know, has anyone else heard of these terms in the States? Maybe I've been living in a (Weissware) box....

Manchmal gibt's auch den Begriff Grauware für IT-Produkte (siehe Link). Manchmal wird Grauware aber auch im Zusammenhang mit "halblegalen"(?) Gütern gesehen.
