The maximum number of hits for any one search is limited to 100.
Single-word entries are listed alphabetically, multi-word entries
in descending order according to the number of matching words.
The buttons in the results table have the following functions:
|
Clicking on the "funnel" symbol above the results table allows
you to filter your results so that your query will only return
results for your chosen domains (tech., med.,
etc.)
|
|
the i-links provide links to additional information for an
entry (such as word definition, pronunciation, grammar, etc.)
|
|
the f-links display the linked forum discussion below the
relevant word pair in the table
|
If there are forum discussions with your search term(s) in
the subject the discussions will be linked at the end of the (first)
results page. If you can't find a discussion with your search

Link results
When set to Y all words in the results table are
hyperlinked so that you can easily look up those words without
having to type them in the search field.
When set to N hyperlinking is disabled which allows you to
easily copy words from our results with your mouse and paste them
into other documents.

Automatic focus behaviour
Search terms are automatically typed in the search field even if the
cursor is not in the search field. As soon as you begin to type, the
focus is automatically set on the search field (providing you have
the relevant browser window activated).
If you want to switch off this feature as it may interfere with
browser-specific keyboard shortcuts you use for surfing, please click
disable.
To reactivate the automatic search focus click
enable.
