    Guten Morgen, hier eine Frage zur Schreibweise o.g. Begriffes: Spielt das 'e' eine Rolle hinsichtlich der Bedeutung?

    AIUI the "normal" spelling in BE is "judgement", but in legal contexts the preferred spelling is "judgment".

    So, in a legal context, for a specialist English readership, you should probably use the spelling "judgment" when referring to the final decision of a court (or a judicial opinion). However, you could criticize somebody's judgement if you were talking about their cognitive faculties.

    Ein Solicitor erklärte mir neulich den Unterschied: Die Schreibweise mit "e" verwendet man nur, wenn es um eine "moralische" Beurteilung geht. Die Schreibweise ohne "e" verwendet man für Gerichtsurteile.
