    Basically, yes, but I would probably avoid mixing tenses.

    There was nothing more I could learn ...
    There is nothing more I can learn ....

    "nothing else" is also OK, but IMO "nothing more" is better English.

    Hier werden nicht unbedingt Zeiten vermischt, sondern eher Indikativ und Konjunktiv
