*g* I shudder to think what the second meaning in urbandict might be.
I hadn't thought of 'manbag,' and while it's clear what it refers to, it might have a fairly derogatory or at least snide overtone. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think a suave, tailored EU diplomat in New York would have his assistant phone a restaurant and ask if they had found his 'manbag' -- it's too slangy and too flip. (And there's the danger of whatever the second meaning is ...)
On reflection, I don't much like my own suggestion of (men's) pocketbook
from 2005 in the other thread.
What about something like document case? Travel case? Travel wallet?
Possibly with 'European-style' added before it? (Though they also seem to be used in Latin America ...)
