Das ist ein grundlegendes Problem bei reinen Wörterbuch-Entsprechungen - "prime" bedeutet "erstklassig" oder aber "grundlegend", deshalb hat ion auch gefragt, ob Du vielleicht "primary" meintest. Hier ein paar Beispiele aus Merriam-Webster für die korrekte Anwendung von "prime":

The wine industry is of prime importance to the California economy.
The police have not yet named the prime suspect in the murder investigation.
The house is expensive because it's in a prime location.
