Android-App ignores line breaks

When using the LEO app (6.1.0), I see many messages, including my own, that do not display properly. For example, it there is one blank line between paragraphs, that line disappears. If there is a list of items, each on a separate line, they all run together in one line with no spaces between them.

The messages display correctly on desktop (Win7, FF 45.2) but the only way to get the correct formatting on my Android phone is to add extra blank lines. That means putting two blank lines between paragraphs and adding a blank line between each entry in a list. The app seems to be swallowing the first blank line.

I'll try to reproduce the problem here:

1. First line
2. Second line
3. Third line
4. Fourth line

Runs together as:
1. First line2. Second line3. Third line4. Fourth line

Adding an extra blank line between items as in:

1. First line

2. Second line

3. Third line

4. Fourth line

Displays on Android phone as:

1. First line
2. Second line
3. Third line
4. Fourth line

Do any other Android-App users have the same problem? Many forum posts are almost indecipherable once blank lines have been eliminated. I've started using two line breaks wherever I want one to appear.

I would really like to know if there are any plans to address this issue. Below is what Selima's nicely formatted entry [ to gain from - durch etw. gewinnen ] in Neuer Eintrag looks like when viewed with the LEO Android App:

It's really quite indecipherable and restoring the line breaks seems like such an easy fix. Or is it it impossible to fix? A shortage of line breaks, perhaps? ;)

Drat. Just upgraded to the latest version of the app - 6.4.1 -- but the problem persists.

The TLDR: it will be fixed, but it will be some time before we can address the issue.

The full story:
The APPs use a "webview" of the forum (basically a special website designed for mobile), it's not a native implementation (unlike the rest of the APP). This webview is showing its age, you may also have noticed some missing icons/images in there. The missing line-breaks are another sign of this ageing process (and there's more under the hood stuff).

We are in the process of doing a complete re-write of this webview, but as this is on some points depending on other stuff happening first, we have started and are quite far, but now there's a delay and we have to fix some other things first in order to continue working on the new forum-webview for the APPs.

We're very sorry that this won't be resolved sooner.

Thanks, for the explanation, Martin. I'll wait patiently for the problem to be fixed. :)

Ever since I've started using LEO exclusively with Javascript disabled (to avoid being tracked by Google Analytics related discussion: LEO-Google interaction -- Google Analytics?), I've discovered something interesting about the line break problem. If I compose my entries in Notepad and copy them into the LEO input box (desktop version), the line breaks do not disappear. That makes me wonder again about this problem. Why should text copied into the input box retain all of its line breaks (when viewed later with the Android App) while entries created using the LEO edit box lose theirs?
