    Alarm Alarm?

    Kommentar
I was watching the movie "das boot" in German with English subtitles.
About half way through the movie the guy sees a plane and shouts something like
"aie kalista alarm alarm" Then alarms start sounding and everybody starts
scurrying about. I was wondering what is phrase means in english as well as its
correct German spelling. Thanks in advance

And what did the subtitles say at that point?

I saw the movie several times (Petersen did excellent work), but I don't have every spoken word in mind and can't find anything that would sound like "aie kalista" (you don't need to have explained Alarm Alarm, do you ;-) ). Perhaps you try another way of writing it so I can get a clearer idea what it should sound like. I will also have a look (better a listening) at the soundtrack, there's not only the music on it but also the soundtrack of the very best scenes - but I doubt that your scene is one of these.

Thomas, could you give us the exact time code of the scene you are referring to so we could write down a little transscript of it

Ich könnte mir denken, es heißt "Herr Kaleun, Alarm, Alarm", Kaleun = kurz für Kapitänleutnant = lieutenant-commander.
