Selkie: at www.npr.org they present "World Space" portable satellite receivers which, they say, permit you to receive npr broadcasting 24 hours a day throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. (Gee I memorized that spot pretty well, huh? :) ) Anyway, I tried to find out about this locally (Germany) and the shops who supposedly carried it (according to the website) denied knowing anything about it. Evidently they are available in the UK. Careful, this info is cold and old. Note: I never bought one.
CARLY-AE: ( re: http://espnradio.espn.go.com/espnradio/index
). This is altogether new to me. The only sports show I listen to when I can is Sports Overnight America, and lately that has not been on the air. Admittedly, I enjoyed the banter of Matt Johnson more than the sports themselves. It could be, however, that for anyone not fond of the computer screen, or, like myself, fed up with it at the end of the work day, a satellite receiver might be the way forward
. A technician (selling and installing aerials of course) told me I could expect to get bad reception unless I bought one of his systems and had it put on the roof. Well, I guess we all have to make a living. The reliability of this information I must leave to you to judge.
