for what it's worth, "work area" is more common than "working area," but I'm not even sure that either one would be a good name for what you have in mind. Wouldn't this be more like a (virtual) "meeting room" or "discussion room"?

But look, they already have got a 'discussion area'.

Hi and thanks for your input - as we talk about work plans and working groups, I think it's better to stick with 'working', as already mentioned, the discussion area already exists and 'business' doesn't seem appropriate as it is a scientific committee.
