well, being a non-native does have disadvantages :-)
one usually says "give up or quit smoking"
now, a student of mine said "finish smoking" and I feel this is either incorrect or implies just one cigarette that a person is smoking
I wonder if i am right in this assumption ...
or do they actually say "finish smoking" in the meaning of "becoming a non-smoker"?
