    I wonder if this expression is common in everyday English, and if it is considered a nice alliteration that might be well placed in a casual chat. To me it sounds as interesting as the allusion is worth a few moments of thought.

    I think this expression is not common in everyday English. However this expression will be understood in the context of philosophical or psychological discourse.
