Was heißt eigentlich "TESO"? Hab's nicht rausfinden können (OK, hab jetzt auch nicht soo intensiv gesucht...).

Ich wollte Dir in jenem anderen Faden noch hinsichtlich des Witzes von "wird, wird Wirt" zustimmen, aber dann war LEO kollabiert und die Diskussion schon zu weit fortgeschritten.

TESO ist die Abkürzung für

Mit diesem Faden hat es vor zweieinhalb Jahren angefangen.
Das ursprüngliche Thema spielt im aktuellen Tagesgeschäft keine so große Rolle mehr
(spukt aber vielleicht noch in dem einen oder anderen Hinterkopf herum?).
Vorletzten November haben sich einige TESOs getroffen, und ich kann versichern, dass es da absolut seriös zugegangen ist.

Ich habe heute meine schriftliche Kündigung bekommen, allerdings steht da kein Kündigungsgrund drin, also werde ich morgen anrufen und sagen, ich will ein Kündigungsschreiben, in dem explizit steht, dass es nur wegen des Budgets ist. Lt. Stephenie Meyer, Autorin der "Twilight"-Tetralogie, der perfekte Mann...

Ein "vegetarischer" Vampir und love interest der Protagonistin besagter Serie. Wenn du nach "Twilight" oder "Bis(s)" suchst, findest du bestimmt mehr heraus.

Der Zwilling in meinem Traum war allerdings nicht vegetarisch, sah aber genauso aus wie der Typ, der ihn im Film spielt. Dabei hab ich den Film nicht mal gesehen! (werd ich auch nicht, bevor jemand fragt)

Edward Cullen ist ein granatenstark, umwerfend, überirdisch gutaussehender Vampir, ein Kontroll-Freak, der im wahren Leben vermutlich nicht nur Frauen schlagen, sondern auch einsperren würde, in dieser zum Gähnen langweiligen sogenannten "Vampir"serie von dieser pRuritanischen (=vor Langeweile Juckreiz auslösenden) Stephenie Meyer...

Aber Passionsfrucht heißt das Teil wegen der Passion Christi... (wegen der Blüte...) Hat NIX mit Sex zu tun. Und das weiß ich eben leider auch, deswegen fällt diese Symbolik bei mir weg ;o)

Aber als aufregendstes Ereignis habe auch ich nur zwei Mäusebussarde zu vermelden, die sich erst miteinander und später mit Elstern um irgendein Stück Aas stritten.

Am Dienstag soll endlich etwas Sonne kommen ... - Hoffentlich!

Happy Valentine's Day, TESO's!!!

Had a wonderful overnight trip/Fasching party at my son's to get back to "Schneeärger" - my downstairs neighbor met me at the door to say our landlord and his wife had "dropped by" - Wir müssen mit Ihnen reden. To make a long(er) story short, someone had complained to them that we were NOT taking our snow-shovelling duties seriously. Turns out we're supposed to shovel the snow at the bottom of their so-called garden (HILL, mountain slope), all the way up around the corner - incline about 60° angle - 300 - 400 m long. This is one "task" I will REFUSE to do - when I moved in, they had said my rent was "all-inclusive" - as in someone else did the work. That someone got 100 euros per month in rent reduction, has moved out...and there is no way in HE** that I'm going to wade through 3 ft. of snow down a 400 m long "garden" to shovel another 400 m's of snow, only to have the ploughs dump it back on to walk again...repeat process all day and all night. NOOOOO!

So, got that off my chest, now back to the milling machine :-)

Ja, das habe ich heute morgen auch schon gehört...aber man weiß wirklich nicht mehr wohin mit dem ganzen Zeugs! Unsere Straße wird geräumt (meistens) aber ist zwischenzeitlich so eng, daß nur ein Auto mittig fahren kann - und es ist nicht so, als würden wir garnicht räumen, oder als wären wir die Einzigen, die "aufgegeben" haben...es hat aber 3 Tage ununterbrochen geschneit, und dann noch die "snow drifts"...und vor 2 Wochen hatte ich denen vom Schneeräumen im WOhnzimmer erzählt, und gemacht ist noch nichts!!

I've been meaning to mention that sometime last week, I went to babysit my granddaughter. Saw a fox on the side of the road, which was no longer red, but whitish red...I thought only the Artic fox changed colors in winter, but this one seemed to have adapted to the current snow situation/landscape :-)

Meine Balkontür war kaputt und ist heute repariert worden. Jetzt könnte ich meinen Balkon wieder benutzen, aber da liegen ca. 30 cm Eis und Schnee. Und da das von oben taut und der Abfluss noch vereist ist, werde ich beim nächsten Tauwetter meinen ganz privaten Swimmingpool haben, juhuu! :-(

Yeah, shhhh - And I just now recalled that this is the 50th year running, that I've done so :-)) No, not quite true, one year I gave up beer and drinking sugar in my coffee (that was a real hardship, because the coffee at work was undrinkable without sugar...beer wasn't hard, as I never did care for it's taste, it just ensured that I wasn't invariably shy at that point in my life:-))

shhh, Just turned 55 :-)) And I wasn't even Catholic back then...but was a "Brownie" (Pfandfinderin) and after our weekly meeting, we always got a treat. One girl, who was about 8 at the time, said: No thank-you, I've given up chocolate for Lent. I asked her just what that meant, went home and told my mother that I, too, was giving it up for Lent. My Presbyterian father about fainted, but decided to support me in my endeavors. He even let me attend her first Communion :-) No meat in my house during the "Karwoche" (had myself baptised Catholic 30-odd years ago). Right, and I would never cheat on Lent...the hard part about beer was that I was so shy back then.

I am quite shocked how hard it is to do without the occasional glass of Sekt or wine... I'm actually looking forward to that come June.. Hubby smokes a lot less, too, because he or me have to leave the room for it.. Nice side effect.

I try to cook fish on Fridays..but we do like it, too. And at least once a week is healthy..

JEEZ! Ever read Michael Dorris "The Broken Cord"? Anyone drinking a single drop of alcohol during pregnancy after reading that book does not deserve to become a mother...

No, easy - I never read that, BUT drinking alcohol during pregnancy was unheard of in America...

The book is amazing. Don't read up on Michael Dorris' life, though. It's disheartening. But the book should be compulsory reading for women during childbearing years...

Might order that book, easy - But my gynocologist really DID suggest me drinking a glass of Sekt to start off the morning, and a glass of red wine to finish the day. Would help my extremely low blood pressure, and rather low iron values, so he said. I have my own (unproven) theory - what you crave during pregnancy, is just what your baby needs...I ate TONS of fresh carrots, bell peppers, jogurt, occassionally liver, just HAD to have really spicy foods (which I don't like:-)), and the sharpest mustard available, when I much prefer our sweeter French's mustard :-) My body did NOT crave alcohol.

I loved it.

Ein Meter! Hier ist es wohl noch nicht einmal die Hälfte, aber trotzdem mag ich gar nicht dran denken, wie es ist, wenn das alles taut!

Da hat sich schon wieder ein Graureiher auf 'ne Gartenfichte gesetzt! Unerhört!

Gestern gab es übrigens noch Silberreiher und Höckerschwäne - ziemlich Ton in Ton bei dem Schnee. Ach ja, und Goldhähnchen, die den Schnee von den Fichtenzweigen rieseln ließen, und einen Kolkraben ...

hm, naja, stellenweise ein Meterchen, da, wo's schön zusammengeweht ist. Zusammengeschoben haben wir auch auf dem Marktplatz in Stralsund nen schicken Rodelberg von etwa 4 Metern :) Wo's nur liegt sind es jetzt so 30-50cm würde ich mal schätzen.

Ich werde mich mal so langsam auf den Feierabend vorbereiten. Seid gegrüßt!

Just had a phone call from my granddaughter, who told me she had fallen off her horse at today's lesson, Cindy had been frightened by another horse, bolted away, bucked, and threw her off. She got up, dusted herself off, and mounted Cindy. Me: Well, Thank God, you weren't hurt. Oh, but I was, hit my head and back and Mommy's heart almost stopped beating. Glad Oma hadn't taken her to lessons, today, or my heart might really have stopped beating!!Finally had the SUN come out today!! And no more new snow!!

Was a quiet weekend, been to a birthday Kaffeklatsch.. Ate too much, had heartburn afterwards (Thanks, baby..).tsts..

No sun here, but no snow either..what fell on Saturday, melted away again yesterday.. Easy's right, the air smells of spring and the birds sing like in spring and the hares have started chasing each other around on the fields..
Did my good deed yesterday by pulling a friend's car out of the field where he had parked to walk his dog.. The holes his tires had dug were ~25cm deep.. No wonder he couldn't get out by himself..

Unug my Toyota and brought it to the garage for a check-up, so he's fit when I'm really gonna need him (visit the Doc, Hechelkurs etc)..

Well..everything is fine, baby keeps knocking, so I'll stand up and do something involving more movement.. See you later..

Ich werde im Sommer mal mit Leuchtdioden experimentieren.
Wenn im Winter etwas Wärme aus den Birnen kommt, muss man die Heizkörper eben nicht so hoch drehen.

Hier hat's ein wenig gefieselt, aber die Sonne kommt auch ab und an raus.. Hunde sehen aus wie die Schweine, haben im Feld (=Schlamm) nach Mäuschen gebuddelt..

Wir haben ganz viel so Strahler, wo so kleine Halogenleuchten reinkommen. Nur noch4 Lampen mit Birnen und von denen muß eine wegen der Optik ohne Energiesparlampe bleiben.. Aber es gibt da ja mittlerweile auch schon ganz hübsche Modelle..und auch Varianten mit weicherem Licht..

Wari, ich will aber kein Sondermüll in mein Heim haben, und finde es wirklich paradox, daß man "der Umwelt zulieben" extrem teuere, mit Gift versetzte, Leuchten per Gesetz aufgezwungen bekommen. Ich habe auch einige in zwei Lampen, die ich den Vorgängerin abgekauft hatte - nur war es mir nicht bewußt, bis ich "untersuchte" weshalb ich manchmal kaum Licht in die Küche hatte, und 10-15 Minuten später, wurde es merklich heller :-)

When I asked if she'd be getting rid of her fossil fuel guzzling car and buying a bike she seemed a little bit upset. Your telly is also full of things that could concievably kill you with toxic fumes too, but I don't see anyone rushing to ban them.

Gnädigerweise würden sie mir den auch ausbezahlen, weil das ja jetzt alles etwas kurzfristig ist. ach nee. Also hab ich jetzt einen Urlaubstag genommen, weil hier in meinem Wunscharbeitsort grad sämtliche Tierpfleger krank sind und let's face it: Die Arbeit hier bei den Reptilien nicht nur mehr Spaß macht, netter ist, weniger link, viel entspannter und UM LÄNGEN WICHTIGER als in diesem hormondrüsengesteuerten, vor selbst ernannten Tierschützern ohne Hirn nur so brummenden SCHEISSLADEN!!!!!
So, nachbehandlering, Tiervesorgung, Scheiße räumen, UV-Baden, Baden, Wasserwechseln, und Füttern. Yippie. keine blöden stinkenden Fellträger ausser als Futtertiere.

Weird or what? Wenn ich nicht mehr auftauchen sollte... bin ich wohl entführt worden. Oder so brainwashed, dass ich mir eine neue Identität zulegen mußte und in Zukunft wachturm-esque von Tierarzt zu Tierarzt tappere und mit Roboterstimme die Vorzüge des einzig wahren Schmerzmittels vortrage...

mykl, I purposely did NOT get connected to the Internet until my youngest had turned 18 = volljährig. And I had already made up my mind NOT to buy anything at all online...first evening "drin" and I just had to check out amazon bookstore, broke my principles within a split 5 seconds :-)) Back then it was nigh impossible to get books in English. I've stuck to it in view of ebay, though.

Not much over 6°C here - and the sun didn't stick around long :-((

I’ve perfected the art of buying clothes ! I do it once a year in the UK at Christmas. We take two huge cases with us and only the clothes we are wearing, and then go on a frenzied shopping spree until the cases are full. Last Christmas I brought 5 pairs of pants/trousers/slacks or strides (what ever the things are called nowadays) and 8 tops of various descriptions and jacket that I didn’t really need but just had to have.
That will last me at least till next Christmas, so I don’t have to drag the kids round the shops here throughout the year!

Hihi, my last trip saw me buying 10 pairs of jeans at Tesco's. Well, at 3 pounds per pair I wasn't going to miss that. *gg*

AHHHH, Emil!! That could well have been performed at one of the 3 concerts I attended all those years ago :-)) I've got the album downstairs, but rarely play it, because my neighbors would most likely start calling the police, complaining of "Ruhestörung" :-))

Vacummed and cleaned bathroom, kitchen, ect. yesterday - dusting still on TO DO list - and if it would ever quit raining/snowing, then windows. Wari, I once had a two-week visit to Paris, staying with my "financé's" family (well, we considered ourselves engaged :-)) They had an ingeneous "invention," which took some getting used to, and was really quite hilarious, but oh so practical. Take shoes off before entering apartment, then step onto pieces of thicker felt (Filz) cut to the shape of feet - you then "glided" over the flooring, polishing it at the same time :-))

Carly, I'll suggest that to the dogs.. *gg* Just imagine them with little felt-paws on their feet, polishing the floor...

Wari, My daughter got some "anti-rutsch-Socken" for Twix, because he still hasn't quite learned how to coordinate his extremely LONG legs, and would sometimes slip and fall on the wooden floors...he let her put them on him ONCE :-)) But, even though my nickname for him is "Sturrie," she's convinced him to stand still on a stretch of carpet and have his feet dried off before gaining access to the house :-)

Mafi, genauso habe ich es mir auch vorgestellt - Bofrost schaute vorbei :-) Aber freundlich war unsere anno damals nicht - ich habe ein Paar Mal etwas (überteuert) bestellt, war einige Male nicht zu Hause als er vorbeikam, reagierte nicht auf seine "ich war hier" Mitteilungen - beim 4. oder 5. Mal hat er mein damalige 16-jährige Tochter dermaßen angeschrien, daß sie immernoch in Tränen aufgelöst war, als ich nach Hause gekommen bin. Da hat Bofrost-Zentral was zu hören bekommen, und seitdem...Boykott!!

Man muß schon genau gucken, was wieviel kostet, aber die Qualität ist echt gut! Nicht, dass ich werben will, abr ich bin echt zufrieden. Wenn er nicht dann kommen würde, wann ich das will (alle 3 Wochen), wäre er das letzte Mal da gewesen.. Ist schließlch Dienstleister! Aber er ist echt nett, lässt sich immer von Carla anbellen ;)

Ja, Wari - mir hat Bofrost auch gut gefallen...sie hatten amerikanisches "ice-cream," red snapper Fisch, und, und, und...aber unsere war einfach sehr aufdringlich, und die Preisen teuer. Ich kenne: burning both ends of the candle - was in etwa "working round the clock", die man dann mit "and still not making ends meet" durchaus weiterführen könnte - aber meinst Du das??

Yep, resulting possibly in what is happening to me at present... Isn't it charming that my thesis is about stress and its consequences in REPTILES?! With the aim of improving captive keeping conditions? ^^ Sometimes I wonder about recently qualified vets and their keeping conditions...
Did I mention that the Tierschutzverein has offered me a new job, different work, and everyone was far from clear about what my work will actually imply? 2 euros less an hour than before, which is not toooooooo bad (although it still sucks) and Mademoiselle Charming has my former job now. With the same wages I get now.

I fear without Mademoiselle Charming's intervention (She told them straight she would never take my job from me (that is obviously if it meant my being made redundant, at least that's how I see it now), I would be entirely, utterly, and completely unemployed now. And NO, I can't feel gratitude! Thing is I like her and cannot even be very angry with her (not that it would help).
And I do feel a very slight and rather unchristian ...glee in noticing that she hasn't even started yet and is already getting cold feet and beginning to realize that it ist not entirely easy to manage that job on ones own. As I have done for a year before she turned up *ggg*
