    Usage: Interesting to/for you?

    Kommentar
    Hi,

I'm wondering which one is correct?

    a) ... interesting to you
    b) ... interesting for you

I've seen both of these combinations on
the web and in several newspapers!?

    Thanks in advance,

    Andre

    Hey,

I think both are correct but it depends on the way it is use in the sentence.

@blackhawk: I was considering sentences like

"I thought that might be interesting for/to you."
"Was this particular information interesting for/to you?"
(Probably one would rather say "Were you interested in
    this particular information?", though)
"The speech would have been interesting for/to you."

It seems in the first case "for" is used more often.
    Does anyone know the rule?

    Cheers,

    Andre

I'm not sure of the rule, but I would never use (and I rarely hear) "interesting for you". Sometimes I might say "this might be interesting to you".

But almost always, I say "you might find this interesting" or "this might interest you". These are far more common than "interesting for/to you".

This could be the construction "to be <adjective> for s.o. to do sth"
    Example:
I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from.

    I support GeorgeA (US).
