As I remember the doctor in question was a dentist? I recall the sign outside his offices was visible in the movie and large enough to be readable. I assumed these were pain killers of some sort, maybe codeine. To my recollection the movie never mentions the type of drug specifically, nor was it mentioned in the documentary that accompanies the movie on the DVD I have.
