"Enter the ring" wird auch benutzt, aber nach meiner Meinung, wird "step into the ring" häufiger benutzt, und ist auch eine genauere Übersetzung.

"step into the ring" is also quite common.
"enter the ring" is not incorrect... also not uncommon.

One can hear any of the three suggestions from a commentator:
"The two boxers are entering the ring"
"The two boxers are stepping into the ring"
"The two boxers are climbing into the ring"

All of those are acceptable translations and commonly heard.
