The german phrase "junge garde" means the best ones of the next generation. But as the link shows the next generation might be only a few years younger. Auf dem Vormarsch means marching forward in a military sense, winning and conquering. So I would translate (DE!)

Yes, that could also mean "boys". But as girls are at least as important as boys I prefer "youngsters" :-) Yes it sounds better, but whether the translation is really better, I cannot say (DE)
