    Ich verstehe es mehr als "wegen" statt "über".

    Eigentlich ist ja die Bedeutung "wegen", aber macht das Sinn?

    I don't get it really. The "on account of" and the "by way of" aren't really parallel. The English version doesn't sound right to me. I'm not of much help, but it's still early.
