Re "worn out": I myself have never heard this used of a room or the interior of a building, but note that ghost_4 is speaking on the basis of relevant experience (Ich habe lange im Tourismus gearbeitet ...), not only of Google hits.
"Tired" is certainly used -- I've even used it myself (of my own living-room, I'm sorry to say).
