That table doesn't really help for England though...

There were numerous discussion threads on this, but as a basic rule in England you have grades A,B, C, D, E and F

roughly speaking you can equate those to the German grades of 1 - 6 (A = 1, F = 6)
However, theoretically an E is still a 'pass' at A-Level, while a 5 in Germany is a fail.

Then again, if you have an E in any subject you might not want to translate the grades at all & just say that you passed your German Abitur/ Realschulabschluss/ whatever
