    Problematische Länder sind insbesondere die sog. K-Länder bzw. eine Reihe weiterer Länder außerhalb der Europäischen Union.

    Can anyone tell me what the 'K' stands for and if there is an English equivalent? The sentence comes from an document on export regulations and I've been able to determine from the Web that these countries are: Iran, Mozambique, Cuba, Lebanon, North Korea and Syria.

    Zu Kuba und Nordkorea fällt mir spontan 'kommunistisch' ein. Weiß aber nicht, ob das auf die anderen Länder in der Reihe auch zutrifft, wohl eher nicht, oder??

    Dies sind sogenannte "Embargo-Länder" - auch der Export von nicht in den Verordnungen genannten Güter muß genehmigt werden

    In case of deliveries into classified countries contained in the country-list K, a permission-duty might exist if the respective products are not listed in the export list but the exporter knows of an intended military use of the products.
