Einfach "properties"? Auch gefällt mir "and the requisite optimum properties"

"Qualities" - I'm not sure, Richard. Is that better than "properties" in a
scientific text? Thanks anyway, I'll chew it over!
Meanwhile, any more for any more?!

... and the ideal properties required therefor.

@Carol: to answer your question - no, clearly not! I hope you didn't chew it over for too long!

And it was great to read "any more for any more?"; my Grandfather used to say that!

Well, I just went off to get something to soothe my frazzled nerves and when
I got back - wow! A big thank you to everyone.
Richard: I wonder if that betrays my age??

@Carol: shouldn't think so! Maybe it betrays the fact that you're from Stockport or somewhere nearby......?!

My family still uses "any more for any more?", usually at the Xmas meal...

He was born in London, grew up in Lancaster and ended up in Stockport. Had a lot of his own amusing expessions, but also got some from family friends, the Innerdales, who were from.....Yorkshire!

Probably a few years too late for the original discussion, but I just came across this word too, and this works well for me!
