    'see badly' ist irgendwie nicht idiomatisch. 'He's got really bad eyes' ist aber wieder okay IMO.

    But he's got "really bad eyes" with or without glasses. Without glasses he can't see anything, but with glasses he can at least see what's in front of him.

    Stimmt. Ich wollte nur darauf hinaus, dass 'see badly' komisch klingt, 'bad' aber in Zusammehang mit 'eyes' nicht generell eine schlechte Wahl ist. Aber für den OP passt es nicht (war es auch nicht gedacht, ich habe nur laut gedacht).

    Even with glasses he still can't see very well. He may need a stronger prescription.
    She can see well even without glasses.
    He needs his glasses to see well.
    She can still see pretty well if the light is strong enough.


    'Good / bad vision' is also fine; to me that sounds better than 'eyes' in this context.

    My vision isn't very good any more even with contacts. I need to have my eyes checked.
    His vision is so poor that he can only make out shapes. He's visually impaired.
