    Ein Ausfall einer der beteiligten Komponenten im Profinet-Einschub führt zum Abbruch der Profinet- bzw. Profisafe - Verbindung.
    Dies lässt sich auf der Steuerung anhand anstehender Fehlermeldungen feststellen.
    Auf Java-Seite wird ein Abbruch der Verbindung mit einer Exception beim Lesen bzw. Schreiben des Profinet-Buses quittiert.

    The section above should provide enough context. I am not entirely sure I have understood the rather wordy final sentence. Could I have feedback on the following translation please?

    On the Java-end, the termination of a connection is acknowledged with an exception when reading from or writing to the Profinet bus.

    Using your sentence as the starting point:
    On the Java end (no hyphen), a break in the connection is signaled by an exception when reading from or writing to the Profinet bus.

    Or, rephrasing it slightly,
    On the Java side, when reading from or writing to the PROFINET bus, a break in the connection is signaled by an exception.

    Of the suggested changes, replacement of "acknowledged" by "signaled" (or by "announced", or "flagged") is the most important.

    Ein Verbindungsabbruch ruft zunächst keine direkte Reaktion hervor. Erst bei dem nächsten Versuch einer Nutzuing der Verbindung (read/write) wird eine Exception geworfen. (Die Exception unterbricht ggf. andere laufende Tasks und "kümmert sich" um die Fehlerbearbeitung/-behebung)
