    Hallo zusammen,


    wie sagt man es, wenn eine Oberfläche nicht komplett glänzend ist, sondern so partiell speckig glänzend aussieht?

    Ich verstehe nicht ganz - denn speckig impliziert ja 'glänzend' (so wie Lackplatten ja sein müssen). Ist das 'speckig' anders gemeint? Meinst du 'mattiert' und irgendwie beschädigt?

    ich glaube, man kann es so zusammenfassen, dass die Oberfläche nicht gleichmäßig glänzend ist.

    ... simply implies a varnished surface to me.

    Both speckig in German or fatty in English imply "not really clean" in my mind, rather than partly shiny. Am I way off base here?

    Also: shiny, glossy, semi-gloss(y)


    "Semi-glossy has the sheen level between 40 to 59 percent. Furniture that coated by the varnish with this level looks shiny but not too extreme. At this level, the wood surface has sheen level up to 60-79 percent. If it is exposed to the light in the room or outside, the wood surface will give more reflections"

    Speckig glänznend sagt man abwertend. Wenn etwas glänzt, wo es eigentlich schön matt aussehen sollte.

    Nach #2 nehme ich an, dass "speckig" im Deutschen nicht ganz richtig ist. Es scheint hier ja darum zu gehen, dass in einer eigentlich mal glänzenden Oberfläche manche Stellen *nicht* mehr glänzen.


    "worn" oder "faded" würde ich vorschlagen.
