I'm translating an anecdote from south Tyrolean about a double drowning. A friend kindly put it into high German for me. Below is the original conclusion of the anecdote and the German translation. I have two questions.
die Trog. Presumably the name of the stream that was dammed to form the pond. Can anyone confirm or correct this? I couldn't find any indication of a feminine Trog in Wörterbuchnetz. But could it possibly be that the water was drained into a trough?
The last phrase is obscure to me. My guess is that it means that the pond wasn't there any more. Any other thoughts? Thanks.
