Abziehen im Sinne von "ausnehmen"? Da kann ich nur mit "to cheat the other ones out of their funds" antworten.

I understand that this is about leaving others behind.
Like when Schumi "zieht seinen Gegner beim Start ab". Or when we were younger
and I could sometimes outrun my friends on the bycicle.

I am lacking, though, a suitable slang word to express the same. The origin
of the German word seems to be the skinning of animals (Abziehen) and there
might be something similar in the English language, if only I could remember...

Abziehen ist ein jugendlicher Ausdruck für ausrauben, erpressen. Jugendliche gangs bedrohen andere Jugendliche und fordern die Herausgabe von Handys, Discman, Klamotten und/oder Geld. Ob es eine ähnliche englische "euphemism" für ausrauben und erpressen gibt, weiß ich nicht.
