'From:' ist wohl zu kurz als dass jemand auf die Idee käme, es abkürzen zu wollen ;)

Ich meine mal glesesen zu haben, daß die Angabe eines Absenders auf Briefumschlägen eine ziemlich deutsche Eigenheit und in anderen Ländern eher unüblich ist.
Kann das jemand, der mehr (eignen) Erfahrungen in kulturellen Unterschieden hat als ich als, bestätigen?

Unless it is a preprinted envelope, which sometimes may say "from", nothing is generally used. It's not wrong, just not generally done.
The sender's name/address is simply placed in the upper left hand corner of the front of the envelope.

No comma after "123" - sorry

I always wrote "Ex: John Bloggs" and then the address. Was it only me? This was on handwritten letters, when I'd write it on the back of the envelope.
