    Paß auf!

    Kontext/ Beispiele
I´ve heard this used a lot as an interjection when someone wants to explain something or say something. Perhaps something like "Listen up", although that would sound a little too much like a command and somewhat abrasive in English. Any ideas?

@fritzi: No, not in this context. I said "as an interjection", when someone wants people to listen.

@Gambit: Why would someone suddenly say "Look out" before explaining something? I'm not sure you understand the situation I've described here.
As I said, I've heard this used when someone wants to make a point or explain something. dude's example "listen hear" may well be appropriate.
