Kann mir einer sagen, wie man NYSE ausspricht? Wie "nice"? Oder wie "nice" mit deutschem "i" hintendran?

    Danke für Eure Hilfe! :)

    en - wei - ess - ie

das ist kein Akronym sonder eine Abkürzung, und die werden in der Regel Buchstabe für Buchstabe ausgesprochen - vgl. YMCA

I may be wrong about the acronym - abbreviation thing. My Oxford American dictionary tells me it is an abbreviation, but various online sources say NYSE is an acronym. Are there any New Yorkers out there?

It is pronounced New York Stock Exchange.
NYSE is indeed an abbreviation, not an acronym.

NYSE is both an acronym AND an abbreviation! Every acronym is an abbreviation but not every abbreviation is an acronym. Does that make it any clearer? No? OK. An acronym is an abbreviation that consists of only the first letters like NATO, UNO, USA, or NYSE.

abbr. (short for abbreviation) is hence not an acronym.

    @ Mini Cooper

You have already solved that one. It's "en - wei - ess - ie".

Interessanterweise ist nur NATO wie ein eigenes Wort ausgesprochen. Alle anderen werden buchstabiert - at least in american English. (UNO ist nur UN)

That's true, but it doesn't have anything to do with the difference between acronym and abbreviation

    OED:
initialism: "Now spec. a group of initial letters used as an abbreviation for a name or expression, each letter or part being pronounced separately (contrasted with acronym)."
