The word "geezer" always has a negative meaning, never positive. More context would be very helpful. Does "boom boom" refer to the Baby Boom Generation? If so, then keep in mind that the Baby Boomers were born between 1946 and 1964. Thus the first Baby Boomers are turning 60 years old this year. To a young person, anyone who is 60 years is indeed a geezer.

The word "geezer" certeainly doesn't always have a negative meaning. In the movie "The King of Narnia" Mr Beaver calls Aslan "the top geezer", admiringly.

ich kenne "boom boom" auch als Ausruf, wenn jemand einen blöden Witz gemacht hat, so wie man bei uns vielleicht "ta-ta, Tusch" ruft oder ähnliches, also Späßchen auf Büttenredeniveau.

"Geezer" bedeutet, wie vormals bereits erwähnt, nichts anderes als "alter Kauz", "Opa" uw. - häufig (aber nicht zwangsweise) vom Sprecher negativ gemeint. In keinem Falle ist die Bedeutung "cooler Typ".
Auch ist es definit kein Cockney... Der Ausdruck ist in den USA durchaus genau so verbreitet wie auf den britischen Inseln.
Woher beziehst du nur dein Halbwissen? :-))

Also ich kenne geezer eigentlich auch nur in der Bedeutung von Kumpel oder mate. Bei Mike Skinner kommt geezer ungefähr in jedem 5 Satz vor. Da dieser bekanntlich aus Birmingham stammt, muss diese Abwandlung nicht unbedingt Cockney, wohl aber britisch sein.

Im anderen Beitrag zu geezer wird "Proll" empfohlen.
Man könnte jetzt hier über soziologische Gründe einer Wandlung der Bedeutung von Kumpel zu Proll spekulieren.

Wie auch immer, der "Lustknacker" passt wohl auf "boom boom geezer"

Hört Euch mal "The Streets" an. Da wimmelt es nur so vor geezers.

Ansonsten sagt Merriam Webster, dass es eine Ableitung vom alten Schottischen Wort "guiser" ist, i.e. somebody in disguise.

In der angeblichen Cockney Hochburg, die ich mein Zuhause nenne, habe ich "geezer" noch nie wirklich bewusst gehoert.

Mein befragter Mitbewohner verbindet damit eher, die Chav-"Typen", die den ganzen tag nichts zu tun haben und nur abhaengen und rumlungern, was auch wieder sehr gut zum zitierten Text von Mike Skinner passt... der sich ja auch bestens mit "Chavs" auskennt ;)

der ausdruck "geezer" ist garantiert nicht negativ behaftet! man erinnere sich an den wunderbaren 70er-jahre song "johnny reggae" von jonathan king - gesungen von den piglets. darin heißt es:
