Ich denke, ich würde es so umschreiben. Man impft gegen die verursachte Krankheit.

suziq, es gibt keine Impfung gegen Borreliose. Zeckenschutzimpfung soll der Frühsommermeningoenzephalitis (FSME), engl. tick-borne encephalitis, vorbeugen. Da aber auch das nicht im Original steht, würde ich bei tick bites bleiben

@suziq: Es gibt keine Impfung gegen Borreliose, es gibt nur eine gegen FMSE.
Neben diesen beiden Krankheiten können Zecken übrigens auch noch meherere weitere Krankeiten übertragen / auslösen.

AFAIK, the only tick-borne infection for which there is currently a successful vaccine (e.g."FSME-Immun") is tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) - Frühsommer-Meningoenzephalitis (FSME).

There is no useful vaccine against Borreliosis (Lyme disease) caused by Borrelia spp. which also have ticks as the main vector.

There is no vaccination for humans against the ticks themselves.

I have no founded medical knowledge (therefore the ?) but the point I tried to make is that you can't vaccinate against a tick-bite so I second Marianne (BE) who even got the disease right :)

"Zeckenschutzimpfung" is widely used to mean the FSME vaccine, i.e. protection when you have been bitten by a tick, not preventing you being bitten by these beasties.

To say "vaccination against tick bites" gives entirely the wrong impression - you are just as likely to get bitten after vaccination as you were before.
