    Betreff

to grind ones teeth AT somebody

    Kontext/ Beispiele
I’ve never made any bones about the fact that I take amphetamines. Any sane person would every chance they get. But I’m not in favour of legalisation because I don’t want all those idiots running around grinding their teeth at me. I only take Methedrine which most people don’t realise is a vitamin. Vitamin M.
    Kommentar

This is a comment from 1976.

I only know (and found) the meaning "mit den Zähnen knirschen" but that doesn't make sense hear, does it? Or do certain drugs make you grind your teeth all the time? Or does he mean that those who are against legalisation are idiots and that they would grind their teeth at him because they are angry about him being in favour of legalisation?
    Thanks!

If you had another look to your text you would perhaps recognize that it is not exactly clear in itself, and neither is your question.
    The second sentence is incomplete.
The next sentence states clearly that the person involved is "_not_ in favour of legalisation", whereas you ask about him being in favour.

I think you are right though in supposing that the people won't like the person and show him their teeth.

If you are seeking an explanation of causality (as to WHY he is _not_ in favour, where he would rather be) I cannot help you though.
