Gibt es "Bob der Baumeister" auch auf Englisch? Meine Kinder sind ihm schon längst entwachsen.

Oh Carly, I can't believe you've never seen "Bob the Builder" in English. You've missed a real treat.

@Anne and all others - I of course know all about "Bob der Baumeister," but in German :-) Glad to know that he is both well-known in the UK and the USA, since the paragraph is directed towards those nations!

@Daddy - Aber meine Kinder sind zwischenzeitlich 29 und 26, und Bob the Builder gab es damals noch nicht :-)

I think Bob originated in the UK. Actually, Carly, with your command of German, I expect the German version was just as much fun:-). Something that makes the programme special in the UK is the actor who does Bob's voice and sings the song - Neil Morrissey. He's very popular for comedy TV roles like "Men Behaving Badly".

Folks, you're way behind the times. In Germany and the UK he has been replaced by Bobski the Builderowsky" ;-)

@Bacon - True! But Bobski the Builderowski will soon wise up and follow the asparagus harversters BACK to the UK :-)

Well, I first met Bob the Builder motifs together with his friends Hugo B., Calvin K., Louis V. at very, very unexpensive retail on the Southern Turkish beach.
