    Hi all,

    Not sure if this is the right place for it but I'm trying to compose a short, friendly email to someone with whom I had an interview last week just to see whether there have been any developments - i.e. to see whether they are still considering me for the post.

    Anything I've tried writing has come over as kind of snotty - any ideas on what sounds acceptable and not pushy in german?

    Thinking something like,

    Liebe Frau ***

    ich wollte fragen, ob es weitere Entwicklungen gegeben hat, seit meinem Gespraech bei Ihnen letzte Woche. Ich waere sehr dankbar, wenn Sie mir kurz mitteilen koennten... and then I kind of die...

    Help?!

    I am sure there are still better words - why don't you just call? It is harder, I know, but leaves a better impression.

    I tried to stay as close to your text as possible.

    Die Antwort, die Du so provozierst, lautet: "Um Ihnen und uns die zusätzliche Mühe weiterer Nachfragen zu ersparen, übersende ich Ihnen in der Anlage Ihre Unterlagen und wünsche Ihnen für Ihren weiteren Lebensweg viel Glück."

    Thanks, you two. Especially love the part about her fave chocolates - I'd definitely employ someone who bought me chocolate!

    Went for the interview on Thursday last week, so it's been 8 days so far. That's included a weekend and a feiertag, so I'll wait a while longer and try and appear patient. Hope they're still considering me!!

    Anyway, thanks again - much appreciated!
