    ausreichend / befriedigend

    Quellen
    what's the difference? The dictionary definition for both states 'satisfactory'. I have transcripts here that state ausreichend for one subject and befriedigend for another.

    Any ideas?

    Vorschlag"4" = ausreichend, "3" = befreidigend

    I'd guess these terms are used fpr grading purposes as done in school. In Germany a 4 (ausreichend) is the quivalent of a "D" in American high schools, a "3" (befriedigend)is the equivalent of a "C".
    This most common German grading system ranges from 1 to 6.

    (I am a German high school teacher.)

    Vorschlagsufficient / satisfactory

    Using the words in a text, I think "satisfactory" is used when it refers to a person, whereas "sufficient" is more refering to things.
    Then there is of course the German school grades, "ausreichend" being equivalent to "D", "befriedigend" meaning "C".
