Surely it means the parts are prepacked, and can therefore only be sent as 2 shipments rather than being combined as 1, does that make sense?

Sorry, Werner, you're right - the two components are pre-assembled sauna cabin(s). They are to be packed as separate units and delivered to end customer, who then "just" needs "connect" them at home.

@Sly - Ja, seltsames Deutsch, aber "der Verpacker" schlägt vor, die Saunakabine + Elektroinstallation in X-tausend Kleinteile zu liefern - vermutlich möchte die Fa. X mit "fertig gepackte" unterstreichen, daß die Kabine auch "pre-assembled" versendet werden soll.

??? Verstehe den Zusammenhang zwischen "fertig gepackt" und "pre-assembled" nicht. Fertig gepackt ist ja nicht vormontiert. Evtl. vormontiert verpackt ???

Sly - sorry for any confusion - Company Y is supposed to manufacture and pre-assemble a sauna cabin in 2 separate parts, and then pack them as such, ship them off to Germany, where they would then be delivered to your home, and all you need to do is unpack and "snap" together - voilà you have a sauna :-)) However, Company Y wants to manufacture and pack in many parts, rather than do the above.

Mein Vorschlag (denn so verstehe ich es jetzt):

..., als 2 Teile - fertig gepackt - beim Endkunden....

and in this case I still propose packed only, pointing out that it have to be 2 parts. "pre-packed" sounds like not ready yet.

Hallo Sly, für mich war's auch sehr mißverständlich und daher habe ich den Text auf Basis frühere e-Mail-Austausch umgestellt (und bereits weggeschickt):

...deliver the sauna cabins as two pre-assembled and individually packed components to our end customers.

Ist doch perfekt so ! :-)
