the context is: "The background noise could occur in the conference because one participant has put you on hold"
With the invoice attention I mean the bit in the billing system/ invoice which is in German titled with "zu Händen", the first line of billing address so to speak...

as to invoice attention - if you mean "invoice TO THE attention of" or "invoice FOR THE attention of" then perhaps: "Rechnung zu Händen (insert name of recipient)"

I think what you mean with "invoice attention" is the "Betreffzeile"

Yep, except "in die Wartschleife gelegt hat" - "in der Warteschleife versetzt" means something completely different ;-)

@odondon: Its "Hintergrundgeräusche" (no umlaut on the u) and "in die Warteschleife gesetzt".

That's what I thought too, by the way, but I wouldn't call the awful music that you usually get to hear in such cases "background noise" (noise, yes, but no background ;o)) so I wasn't quite sure whether that was what was meant.

Als ich in einer Telefonkonferenz war wurde mir gesagt das ich auf keinen Fall den "hold" Knopf druecken sollte da die gesamte Konferenz dann unsere Wartemusik hoeren wuerde. Das war eine Versuchung, haette es gern getan mein Mut hat mich aber verlassen und ich brauchte den Job. Es war eine Weltweite Konferenz mit 16000 Mitarbeitern. Hat mich gewundert das es keiner getan hat. :)
