"Colitas" - it is very old-fashioned, almost old-Portuguese, so as an old Bavarian word that should be "German", just not a translator and nothing else is found on the net about it. It's dead and only 50 people in one little mountain valley region are left using it.
I am currently learning Esperanto as the eighth language. Understand most of the hip hop lyrics and poems and you have to imagine that this dead language was invented and perfected only by a couple of very smart minds.
Most elements, such as Latin, Spanish, Greek or whatever - wrong thought. These people did not use English as a reference, but "Elizabethan literature" (Skakespear's jargon) instead. And instead of German "Barrock-Dichtung", the Spanish influences, which can be quickly reduced to a simple sentence structure as by Yoda, the essential (subject, object, verb): "You can go home" Yoda: "Go home you can".
If there are some factors in Esperanto (easy) and all the stuff written above can symbolize, the man is able to find out what the Eagles are singing and saying (it's a difficult puzzle, but I have the Asberger Syndrome and think about it around the corners.
"Warm smell of colitas" - Esperanto: "Varma odoro de kolitas" ----- "The warm smell of smoldering Colts" adjective and nouns anchor themselves here.
