    Last I remember from the US medication commercials, there were about 5 seconds at the very end of the commercial when the narrator would actually read off the side effects really quickly in a monotone voice so that you couldn't understand them anyway. :-}

    For example, "Side effects are rare but may include nausea, headaches, diarrhea, and vomiting."

    Hmm, then there came something about talking to your doctor if your symptoms worsen or blah blah blah, but it's been too long and I don't remember exactly how it went.

    Isn't that written in the package insert of the medicine? In Germany, Austria... they do mostly always say this slogan at the end of medicine commercials.

    I don't know about adverts because I rarely watch TV when I'm in the UK.

    Package inserts/PILs, however ...

    Standard EU phrasing:
    "Read all of this leaflet carefully before you start taking/using this medicine.
    Keep this leaflet. You may need to read it again.
    If you have any further questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
    This medicine has been prescribed for you. Do not pass it on to others. It may harm them, even if their symptoms are the same as yours."
    If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist"

    Variations found on a quick look at http://emc.medicines.org.uk/

    "Please read this leaflet carefully before you take this medicine.
    If you are not sure about anything ask your pharmacist or doctor."

    "This leaflet is designed to be read prior to taking your tablets. If you have any further questions after reading it, please ask your doctor or pharmacist. "

    "This leaflet provides some important information about your medicine. Please read it carefully before you start taking X. If you have any further questions, or there is anything you don't understand, ask your doctor or pharmacist"

    Dt. korrekt.: Zu Risiken und Nebenwirkungen ...

    Man soll das ja schließlich vorher lesen.

    (Und dann weiter ohne Komma.)
