    could you also say "the immensely accelerating exchange of information"

    and if not ... why not?

    Anybody able to explain the difference to me?

    immense : generally describes a quality of SPACE or the large size of a THING.

    tremendous : means extraordinary

    For your context, "tremendous" works better.

    Accelerating is a verb.
    Say rate of acceleration and you can use your adjectives.
