#15 ... Daneben fehlt auch der Aspekt des Denkfehlers, der in "fallacy" steckt, also dass es eben eine unzulässige Form der Vermenschlichung ist.
In modern usage (as has already been pointed out) the expression is not pejorative. See the definitions given in the previous thread on this subject (link in #2, above), and the following comment quoted in #2 of that thread:
Literary critics after Ruskin have generally not followed him in regarding the pathetic fallacy as an artistic mistake, instead assuming that attribution of sentient, humanising traits to nature is a centrally human way of understanding the world, and that it does have a useful and important role in art and literature.
Really we could do with a more readily comprehensible expression than "pathetic fallacy", but it remains the established term.
