And tonight I keep my fingers crossed for your country:

    Horizontally, vertically, perpendiculary or otherwise . . . :-))

Is that how you'd phrase the whole term?

@ # 3, yeah me too. Neither team has the " magic wand" and the miracle answer for me is hard to come by this time around. So I decided for the lesser evil which is to say that the present situation will inevitably get more fucked up in the foreseeable future, no matter what happens. :-)))

@Helmi: that's because Bush, in true form, is leaving the country bankrupt and in tatters, just like he's left everything else he's ever run. Either contender would have a huge mountain to climb. I just think youth favors Obama. :-)

@Mr. D.: I dare say senior was a much better (smarter) president than jr. Plus, he had Clinton to clean up after him. :-)

    @ #12: I was engulfed by thinking of wars in a particular region . . .

Anyway, 'senior' is ever so proud of 'junior' holding office! . . .

@#14: The film got a disappointing write up in the Süddeutsche otherwise as Bush-critical as can be.

@#15: I'm about as anti-Bush as anyone (I like mine shaved - ;-) - just kidding), but the movie gives W an almost human and intelligent dimension - in some scenes anyway. I found it interesting in the sense that I left the theater not hating him quite as much as I normally do. It also puts a very sinister spin on Cheney - as if that were really necessary. Anyway, it's obviously not a documentary but simply meant to entertain, make some money, and enhance Stone's reputation as "critical, thinking film maker." To be honest, I expected it to suck, which, after seeing it, I thought it didn't, so that's a plus in my book.
