Morrow: eine Feinheit, aber "cool" ist nicht "kalt", sondern "kühl". Ist eine Gradfrage- nicht ganz so eisig wie "kalt".

"Cool whip" scheint aber recht geläufig zu sein, wenn es sogar in einer Fernsehserie (Family Guy) auftaucht.

Nachtrag: Ich habe übersehen, dass der Ratsuchende selber "cool whip" aus Family Guy hatte. Was für ein Zufall! :)

Since the topic has arisen again: Cool Whip is not from a can. It comes out of the freezer in plastic containers, hence the name. (not that this means it has anything to do with cream) We used to eat it alone, followed by a container of ReadyWhip frosting. Why bother with the cake?

Whipped cream, if you don't mind the fat and the calories and the time it takes to beat it. Otherwise, any other artificial substitute.

Do German speakers ever use artificial whipped cream, or would that be simply unthinkable? Evidently unthinkable at the South Pole, but the blubber probably comes in handy there in the winter ... (-;

It does actually also come in a spray can, evidently; I didn't know that either, because I remember the kind that used to come in a plastic tub and could be frozen. But there's a can in a nearby fridge (not mine).

According to Kraft foods, the can was introduced in 2008, which is why I've never seen it. Half the fun is spooning in into your mouth all icy from the freezer though. What a shame to put it in a can.

We actually do have canned whipped cream, however (although I don't know anybody using it).
