If you would like a very similar English-sounding, but rude saying, you could say:

"That really gets on my tits" but that is very rude and colloquial, so I wouldn't really recommend saying it. :)

I've never heard of that one, might be BE. In AE, you could for instance say "this really bugs the crap out of me."

Getting on my tits is not all that rude. It's vulgar, and shouldn't be said at a society dinner or to your maiden aunt, but it's only mildly shocking - and only to people who should get out more.

Sorry John, but "That really gets on my tits" is quite common (in both senses) in BE. If you want to be more polite, you could say "That really gets up my nose"

Err ... I didn't say it wasn't, quite the reverse. I was replying to a comment about the original suggestion. Try reading more carefully.

You`re getting on my balls - Du gehst mir auf die Eier

Never heard the expression - you`re getting on my sack/scrotum

To get on someone`s tits - never heard that one either

@ Dude - you put it very midly, but correctly

@ John - what`s the difference of being rude and/or vulgar

I would not recommend to anyone using these expressions in any given situtation, however, in some instances using these expressions can be very impressive and exciting.

Dude: I was saying that 'getting on my left testicle' is not BE, but should have been.

My previous post was quite clear, I should have thought, that 'getting on my tits' IS indeed BE.

Rude and vulgar are different things, hence the different words :)

Vulgar is common, low register, language you might use in a pub: 'Get your arse over here', said in a jocular fashion, is not rude because no rudeness is intended (context, always context!), but it's still common language you wouldn't use to your maiden aunt, however affectionately you say it.

Harper, you don't sound like a native speaker. I would refrain from dishing out advice on English idioms if I were you.

@ John - I never said I was an English Native. However, I know the difference of English and American idioms, unlike you. So, I wish you would refrain from "dishing" out any advice on English Idioms and would also strongly advise you to read any text before you start "jumping your gun".

LOL. You don't even know which preposition to use in the above sentence. Your grasp of any English idiom is wonky, to put it mildly.

    "unlike you"

ROFL. You've lost it big time, mate. I have been translating between AE and BE since before you were born.

John, instead of telling me to read more carefully, why don't you try to write more clearly, i.e. so that misunderstandings don't arise? BTW, although all contributions to Leo are welcome, people being unnecessarily offensive tend to have their contributions ignored. So, just calm the hell down, OK

@ Dude - I have never had any tits either.

@ John - I have been a certified translater and interpreter for the Enlish/American
and German Language ever since 6th of July 1976, i.e., I have been translating and interpreting ever since before you were born. You are a very rude person, let alone of being a person faking to be a linugist. Why don`t you just go to bed, sober up, and in the morning you will wake up with a big hangover just to find yourself looking into the mirror calling yourself the biggest jackass in the world and enjoying it. Your behavior, expression, and display of alleged professionalism is unacceptable.

Well done, Harper. Unfortunately, you have just confirmed your lack of mastery of the English language (whether AE or BE). Perhaps you should calm down a little and not take forum comments so personally. A native speaker of BE myself, I found John's constructive criticism of your suggestion to be appropriate, correct and not at all personal.
Comments on idiom really shoud be left to the natives.

    @ Ben
To answer your original question, what your friend said to you is quite normal among some groups of men in UK at least.
Both sexes use the expression "you're getting on my tits" in the same instances as one would say "du gehst mir auf den Sack".
I am not aware of the expression "to get on someone's balls" as suggested by Harper.

Harper, I must agree with those who have pointed out that your English leaves much to be desired. There is no shame in that, but do no give yourself out as an expert where you clearly are not.
