Auch auf Deutsch war diese Redewendung vor einigen Jahren noch unbekannt.
Für mich hört sich das nach einer buddhistischen Weisheit an, die ihren Weg nach Deutschland gefunden hat.
Vielleicht findet man irgendwo ein Original und kann das ins Englische übersetzen.

Sounds a little like haste makes waste or more haste, less speed.

Is the equivalent idiom I think (i.e. don't rush and make mistakes doing so, because you'll take longer in the end).

If you're in a hurry, stop and look around you. The world is so beautiful. There's no need to hurry. Take a chill pill and relax. Fuck whatever it is you are supposed to be doing so urgently: it can wait. Slow the fuck down!
